Winter Camp!!!

Many of the Rhode Island Thunder players attended the winter Top Prospects camp in Long Island, New York.

The players from the Rhode Island Thunder organization were impressive!!!!  

Included is an excellent article regarding showcase softball in the Northeast with a focus on The New England's Finest Tournament hosted by the Rhode Island Thunder Gold.  Our goal as an organization is to support the players in the region and provide them the very best opportunities to be seen by collegiate scouts and coaches!

RI Thunder Showcase team is looking for 2 more players to complete our roster.  All positions are open for consideration.  We will play in a very competitive and exciting summer schedule that includes:

Polar Crush Showcase (MA)
Traditions Showcase (CT)
Stars and Stripes Showcase (RI)
USA Elite Showcase (CT)
Mizuno USSSA Showcase (CT)
and RI Thunder Golds New England's Finest (MA)

We provide top quality training access and practice time/space and play in the most competitive showcases in New England.

Get your skills to the NEXT LEVEL this summer! Sign up now with one of our four COLLEGE COACHES in pitching, fielding, hitting, or outfield!

Rhode Island Thunder: Player Spotlight

Briana Chiusano,

2013 (Freshman): Named to Big South Conference's inaugural All-Freshman Team...Started 58 of the team's 59 games, all in the leadoff spot... Led the team with 62 hits and 47 runs, ranking first and second, respectively among freshman in the Big South...Successful on all 29 stolen base attempts, the second-most steals in the conference, tied for 48th in the nation, and the fifth highest single-season total in school history... Led all Chants with 16 multiple-hit games, scored at least two runs in 10 games and had four doubles and two triples... Was second on the team with a .330 average and second among starters with a .406 on-base percentage... Had hitting streaks of eight and seven games... Went 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBIs against Charleston Southern on April 2.

High School

At Mansfield HS: Posted a school-record .569 batting average during her senior season ... Holds school record for career stolen bases with 96 and stolen bases in a single season, swiping 34 as a junior ... Totaled 14 doubles, eight triples, five home runs and 50 RBIs in four seasons ... Named a Boston Herald All-Star and ESPN All-Star in 2012, along with earning Boston Globe All-Scholastic honors ... Named a Boston Globe All-Star in 2011 and a Sun Chronicle All-Star all four years ... Set a new school mark in the 55 meters and is part of the school-record holding 4 x 200 relay team ... Earned Sun Chronicle All-Star honors in track as a junior and a senior ... Honor Roll for three years.
